Leaps and Bounds Nursery provides a nurturing and supportive environment for children from six weeks old up to primary school entry. The nursery prides itself on its family-oriented approach, encouraging strong partnerships between parents and the nursery to foster a child's confidence, independence, and love for learning.

A team of experienced and caring staff are dedicated to facilitating each child's exploration, play, and discovery of their unique potential through engaging activities and a positive atmosphere. At Leaps and Bounds we are more than just a nursery – we are a warm, nurturing community where your child’s happiness and development come first. As a private nursery we are dedicated to providing personalised care and education for children aged 6 weeks to primary 1 entry, ensuring that every little one feels safe, valued and encouraged to thrive. We take pride in our family-oriented approach, warmly welcoming parents to be a part of their child’s early learning journey. We believe that a strong partnership between home and nursery helps children flourish, building their confidence, independence and love for learning from the very start. Pricing & funding

A registration fee is required to secure a place for non-funded children. This fee is non-refundable if the place is not taken, but is deducted from the final month's payment upon leaving, subject to a notice period.

What it's like to attend

  • The manager is passionate in providing high-quality care and education that supports children to become well-rounded individuals.
  • Staff recognise the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on children's physical development and use funding and training to provide resources and activities that support physical activity and hand strength.
  • Communication and language is well supported in the nursery through repetition, singing, and visual cues.
  • Staff find ways to introduce mathematical concepts, such as recognising halves and quarters at snack time and experimenting with capacity during water play.
  • Children's positive behaviour is well supported by staff who use strategies like special claps, sand timers, and explanations of emotions to help children understand and manage their feelings.

How they support every child

SEND provision

A recent course on visual impairments in children has helped staff to identify children who may need to visit the optician. Staff were able to provide further information to parents, raising their awareness of the benefits of regular eye checks.

Outdoor space

After receiving training about promoting children's movement, staff play parachute games and sing action songs to support children to be physically active, both inside and outside.
