Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff act appropriately if they have concerns about a child. They observe and note what they are seeing and work with parents to share strategies. For example, they use signs to support non-verbal children, which helps them to communicate their needs. The nursery requests support from external agencies, as needed, in a timely manner.

Outdoor space

Younger children are provided with resources to develop their strength, balance and coordination. With encouragement and support, they go through tunnels, kick balls and pull themselves up on large play equipment. This helps them to develop their large physical skills. Older children take part in races, jumping in hoops and running around obstacles.

I chose Les Petits Sunshine after seeing many nurseries in the local area because of the lovely team, the bright and spacious rooms and generous outside space and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. My daughter attended from around 12 months and absolutely loved her time here. Right from the start, the team were so skilled at tailoring her settling based on her temperament and guided me through the process. My daughter built strong bonds with not only her key worker but with all of the staff and would happily babble about all of the activities that she’d been doing. Her confidence, language, social skills and coordination all came on in leaps and bounds once she started. All of the team are clearly so passionate about the children that they look after and make them feel loved, safe and happy. I loved the frequent updates showing both the milestones and the curriculum that the nursery covers. My daughter particularly loved the dance and drama classes, and the Montessori approach helped her with her independence. We only reluctantly changed nurseries after leaving the area. I would recommend Les Petits Sunshine to any parents, it was a lovely experience and I feel very lucky to have found such a gem!

Les Petits Sunshine Day Nursery has been absolutely amazing for my son—he’s loved every minute! He’s made lifelong friends and had incredible teachers like Lucy, Laura, Connie, and especially Sev (sorry if I missed anyone from his baby days!) Daisy and Nathyva. The summer and Christmas events, plus the graduation, are just the cherry on top of an already wonderful experience.

As a parent I am very happy with the progress my son has made after joining Les Petits Sunshine Day Nursery. I can not thank the staff enough, especially his key worker Laura, for their hard work and commitment towards my son’s education and not only. It has been a great experience overall, starting from their doorstep when I dropped my son for the first time and through out. The staff are very welcoming, very attentive to details, keen to inform about the activities they do on a daily basis. They have a varied lunch menu and are keen on providing healthy snacks. Overall my son has thrived there in the social and educational aspect and I wish he gets the same experience at school.

My eldest daughter had a great time at this nursery. The level of individual care was superb in regards to her stages of development. She made many friends and continues to grow into an intelligent, eloquent, empathetic team player/leader. Communication with staff was always clear and engaging. Also the use of "Tapestry" to report weekly activities in visual form helped to put my mind at ease rapidly from the get go in terms of leaving my baby with professionals but initially strangers. I will definitely be sending my youngest daughter here soon!
