About this day nursery

Lilliput Montessori Day Nursery Coalville offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, housed within a charming Victorian building that once served as the Railway Hotel. Established in 1999, the nursery boasts spacious indoor areas, including a dedicated indoor play zone that doubles as a dining room for pre-schoolers, helping them transition for primary school.

The nursery is committed to the Montessori ethos and the holistic well-being and education of children, a principle maintained since its inception by founders Sam and Paul Graveling. As an Employee-Owned Company since May 2019, the staff play a significant role in the business's direction.

Lilliput Montessori Coalville also features a rooftop garden for babies and a direct access garden for older children with safety surfacing, a wooden cabin, and climbing areas, encouraging outdoor play and physical activity. The curriculum focuses on the Early Years Foundation Stage, with an emphasis on communication, personal, social, and emotional development for younger children, and literacy, maths, and understanding the world for those aged three and above.

The staff, including Montessori Qualified Teachers, are trained in various programmes such as Every Child A Talker and Letters and Sounds, supporting children's learning through multi-sensory experiences.
