The Den Farmside, established in 2018, is a well-regarded childcare setting in Coalville, Leicestershire, offering a Good standard of care and education as recognised by its latest Ofsted inspection on 10th October 2024. The nursery provides continuous care all year round, closing only for one week between Christmas and New Year and on bank holidays.
45pm, catering to children aged from birth up to 11 years. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on developing literacy, communication, and mathematical skills, with tailored support for different age groups.
Babies are encouraged to develop physical and speaking skills through activities, while older children, including those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), are supported in their mathematical understanding, for instance by counting backwards from 10 while on a swing. The nursery effectively supports children with SEND through targeted plans, referrals to external agencies, and the use of visual prompts to aid understanding of routines.
Children who speak English as an additional language also make good progress, supported by staff who use key words in children's home languages when necessary. Outdoor learning is a significant part of the provision, particularly in the woodland area, where pre-school children are encouraged to take managed risks by climbing low-level trees and enjoy jumping in muddy puddles with staff, fostering positive relationships.
Independence is also a key focus, with older children learning to manage their own shoes and coats, and toddlers being encouraged to wipe their own noses. The nursery also promotes good oral health by supporting children in cleaning their teeth thoroughly.

The playground was amazing and perfect for me and my friends 🤩❤️
Read on GoogleWow.. this place is just amazing! Our daughter doesn't actually go there yet but the Den was kind enough to show us around and it's wonderful. Staff are very very friendly and made a huge effort to interact with our daughter. Baby room smelt very clean. We was also shown the toddler section which was fabulous, lots of friendly staff and lots of things for children to do.. our daughter did not want to leave. I know I have already said but i just can't believe how friendly everyone was, this is a massive thing for any parent and they really made us feel at ease. Can't wait for our daughter to join 🙏😊
