About this day nursery

Hermitage Nursery School, part of the Storal family, offers a welcoming and supportive environment for children, focusing on their safety, happiness, and inspiration. The nursery aims to partner with parents to enhance their child's early years education, offering daily updates on activities, routines, and meals through chats and learning journals.

They also conduct parents' evenings to discuss development in detail. The admissions process begins with an online registration of interest, followed by an invitation to visit the nursery and meet the team.

To secure a place, a registration fee and deposit are required. Throughout their journey, each child is assigned a key person and team who work closely with families to ensure a smooth transition through different stages, including settling-in sessions and preparing for school.

The nursery also caters to children who may not have English as a first language, encouraging parents to provide a list of familiar words to help them settle in comfortably. The nursery provides access to the Famly app for parents to stay connected and informed about their child's day.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff work hard to ensure all children reach their potential and achieve good outcomes. The nursery works closely with parents and other professionals to ensure that targeted support plans are in place for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Additional funding is utilised effectively to increase staffing levels and provide appropriate learning resources to meet children's individual needs.

Outdoor space

When playing outside, children are keen to initiate their own games, such as hide and seek, and invite others to come and join in. Children learn to share and take turns with the equipment. They delight in playing in the mud kitchen, using the resources to pour, scoop and mix materials.
