About this day nursery

Little Acorns Daycare operates two purpose-built settings in Maesteg and Pyle, both situated within secure business centres and featuring large outdoor areas. With over two decades of experience, the day nursery boasts a team where the majority of staff have been with the company for ten years or more, including a dedicated catering manager and education coordinators.

The day nursery places a strong emphasis on authentic resources, using real-life objects to stimulate active learning and discovery, fostering thought-provoking experiences and a sense of inclusion. Outdoor experiences are considered essential for early years learning, with activities such as local walks, visits to a frog pond and wood nature reserve, spacious garden areas, and connections with local allotments for growing vegetables.

Daily outdoor play and forest school opportunities are provided in all weather conditions to encourage exploration, risk-taking, and independence. Little Acorns also offers a separate Holiday Club area for older children during school holidays, utilising company vehicles for outings to provide engaging activities.

A key aim is to build children's independence, preparing them to enter school as confident and capable learners. This includes opportunities for children to choose and prepare their own snacks, drinks, and meals, as well as access to child-level toilets and sinks to develop self-care and personal hygiene skills.
