About this day nursery

Little Beans Childcare offers a unique approach to early years education, providing a 'home-away-from-home' experience across its various London locations. The nursery focuses on personalised, child-centred care, maintaining small group sizes to foster a family-like atmosphere.

Embracing an innovative and holistic forest-school methodology, Little Beans prioritises outdoor learning and activities in nature. The curriculum extends beyond traditional childcare, incorporating strengths-based activities such as music, Spanish language instruction, and tennis to prepare children for primary school and beyond.

The nursery categorises its care into three age-specific groups: 'Pinto Beans' for ages 0 to 18/24 months, offering individualised nurturing; 'Broad Beans' for 24 to 36 months, focusing on stimulating sensory experiences and social bonding; and 'Runner Beans' for 36 months and older, which challenges children with homework activities and introduces foundational language and maths concepts. This approach aims to cultivate leadership, self-confidence, and strong friendships within a supportive environment.

Our ethos

The heart of our Lucky Beans ethos is bespoke, child-centred care that will give your child that "home-away-from-home" feeling. Unlike other nurseries, we keep our numbers small so that each setting feels truly like a family. We don’t believe in stuffy or traditional childcare - our innovative and holistic forest-school approach involves plenty of opportunities for inspirational learning outdoors and in nature! We keep each nursery small in order to focus on your child's specific development. Our forest school ethos is at the heart of everything we do and we emphasise active child-led learning above the commonplace style of childminding where children may be stuck in a room for the entire day. We also feature many strengths-based activities like music, Spanish and tennis in preparation for primary school and beyond!

My son has been going to this nursery for 8 months. All the staff have been wonderful and I know that my son is very happy. They go out to the common every week and have sports and music classes. I'm very happy that we decided to go to this nursery. Also, they can be very accommodating for the extra odd day of childcare that we need here and there. Which is super useful.

Little Beans Tooting is fantastic. Our son joined when he was 1 and they have been incredible in helping him settle into nursery life. The team are amazing, so friendly and there is always excellent communication. The activities they plan are varied and obviously well thought out to ensure the children are getting the best experience. Our sons development has come on so much and I can only thank the LB team for everything they do. He is in 5 days a week and they are like a second family to him, plus his other little friends! We would highly recommend this nursery to anyone in the area. Thank you so much Roma and the team!

Our daughter has been attending Little Beans for the past 9 months, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and support she receives. The staff are incredibly caring, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the children’s wellbeing. We’re kept regularly updated with her progress, activities, and little moments throughout the day, which really helps us feel connected and reassured as parents. Since starting here, she has absolutely thrived — not only in her learning and development, but also in her confidence and social skills. We’re so grateful to the team for the incredible work they do and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nursery in the area!

We love Little Beans Tooting so much, we are so grateful they are only a short walk away from us. Our daughter is so happy there, she can’t wait to leave in the morning. I like the small, bespoke nature of the nursery and the staff are so smiley and friendly. They are very good at sending us lots of photos during the day, keeping us updated on their activities and progress, summarising food and water intake, giving them varied and healthy meals, spending lots of time outside with the kids, teaching them tennis, and going to so much effort with creative sensory trays and pretend play scenarios! I also appreciate our little one coming home clean every day, I don’t know how they manage it! I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Our son has been at the nursery for the past six months, and we've been really pleased with how well he’s settled in. At just 12 months, it was a big transition for all of us, but the team—especially Roma—have been so supportive, not only with our little one but also with us as parents. They’ve created such a warm and welcoming environment, and it’s clear how much thought and care goes into the day-to-day activities. There’s always a great mix of things going on, both indoors and outdoors, and it’s lovely to see how active and engaged the children are. Whether it's messy play, sensory activities, or getting fresh air outside, our son always has something fun to be part of. He’s always happy to go in the mornings and seems to be really thriving. We're so grateful to the whole team for making this such a positive experience from the start.
