Little Elms Beckenham Elm Road, established in 2009, is the inaugural nursery of the Little Elms chain, setting the precedent for their childcare standards. This facility, meticulously refurbished within a Victorian building, provides modern amenities for children from three months up to preschool age.
The nursery is structured with dedicated spaces for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, each featuring its own garden area for outdoor engagement in all weather conditions. The curriculum is enriched with activities like yoga and sports, and the experienced team prioritises emotional, physical, and communication development.
Children also participate in local outings to expand their learning. An on-site kitchen, overseen by a qualified chef and assistant, prepares nutritious meals and snacks, including formula milk for infants under one year.
The nursery is conveniently located near Clock House and Beckenham Junction stations, offering easy access to central London, and also provides nearby parking options for parents.

Inclusion & environment
Staff plan and implement a broad curriculum for children, including providing tailored support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those from a disadvantaged background.
The inspector observed interactions between the staff and children, indoors and outdoors.
Staff in the rooms are caring, but there is very little continuity of personnel. We decided to leave after one morning witnessing staff trying to use photos on the ipad to work out the babies names as not a single member of staff in the room knew the children. Not the staff's fault, but management is very poor. There are much better nurseries in the area. And bear in mind when reading the reviews that they incentivise with free days to get good ones...
Read on GoogleI wanted to share my experience with Little Elms. My daughter started when she was 9 months old and is now 2.5, and she’s always been really happy there. Right from the start, I felt so supported by the staff—especially in the first year when she needed regular medication. They always went the extra mile to make sure everything was handled properly, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. In the toddler room, she’s been really loved and cared for. She’s always excited to go to nursery—even after long holidays—and she comes home singing all the songs she’s learned, which is such a joy. The staff are always kind, supportive, and welcoming, and I really appreciate how they encourage her multilingual development, as we speak two languages at home. The regular updates and photos of all the fun activities are also such a nice touch and much appreciated! Thank you Little Elms for everything you do!
Read on GoogleEarlier this year, my son was physically abused by another child at the nursery. He had scratches and bruises to his face and these marks are still present today. I raised concerns with the manager of the nursery on several occasions before the abuse occured but insufficient action was taken. Despite bringing safeguarding concerns to the manager and owners, these were not dealt with. I have raised concerns with Ofsted and I moved my son owing to serious failings in safeguarding. There has been a substantial turnover in staffing which demonstrates the culture of the nursery. Whilst the aesthetics of the building are attractive, children are not safe and staff are unhappy.

Read on GoogleOur family has had an exceptional experience with Little Elms. From the very first settling-in session, it was clear that this was a place where children are truly cared for, not just looked after. The staff have been outstanding in their attentiveness to our child’s development, and their support has been invaluable to us as first-time parents. The team’s dedication and warmth made us feel confident and at ease, knowing our child was in the best possible hands. We have seen remarkable growth and happiness in our little one, and it’s clear that the nurturing environment at Little Elms played a significant role in that. We highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a safe, caring, and developmentally supportive environment for their child. Thank you, Little Elms, for everything!
