About this day nursery

Little Hands Nursery Schools, established over 30 years ago in 1991, provides high-quality early years care and education for children under five. Located in the South Cambridgeshire villages of Bourn, Linton & Bartlow, Melbourn, and Newton, the nurseries are dedicated to creating a happy, safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters the holistic development of each child.

The nursery follows a "Learning Through Play" curriculum, which is designed to help children grow as individuals, developing confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills, an approach strongly supported by early years research. To ensure effective learning, Little Hands maintains a high adult-to-child ratio, allowing for individual attention and child-centred planning.

They also emphasise a close partnership with parents and offer a flexible booking system to cater to the unique needs of each family. Their philosophy is rooted in providing an inclusive experience for every child, regardless of ability or need, and they have been a part of hundreds of children’s early years journeys.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported to make good progress. The setting ensures children receive the support they need and works with other professionals to access what children need, complete referrals and hold relevant meetings.

Outdoor space

Children are encouraged to be independent. They put their own coats on to go to the garden.
