Inclusion & environment
The speaking skills of some children with special educational needs and/or disabilities quickly improve. Gaps in the development of some children with special educational needs and/or disabilities close quickly as they are introduced to regular and meaningful conversations with their older peers. Children with identified SEND are referred to more specialist services, when required, and staff benefit from additional support from external SEND advisors.
Children of all ages use their bodies well as they play outdoors. Toddlers practise walking up steps and finding different ways to safely come down slopes. Their older friends use their large muscles to move wheeled toys around at speed. Children have frequent opportunities to play in the fresh air and use outdoor equipment safely and confidently.
Teaching for children who speak a language other than English at home is less effective, as the languages children speak or hear at home are not considered when staff plan and implement the curriculum for communication and language.
We are very happy with this nursery. The staff are caring and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming environment. My daughter enjoys attending and has grown in confidence since starting. Communication is always clear and supportive, and it’s reassuring to know she is in such a safe and nurturing place.
Read on GoogleMy son has really developed his communication and verbal skills at the nursery. In addition he’s also made many friends and exhibited his talents in painting and sports. For context he didn’t speak any English when he first joined but he’s now very fluent and confident when speaking the language.
