Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Care of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is a key strength. All staff are fully aware of children's backgrounds and receive specialist training to help meet children's individual needs, such as specialist feeding and use of equipment. The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with SEND.

Outdoor space

Staff do not always plan for the younger children when they first play outside. As a result, younger children do not settle straight away into their play and learning when they go into the garden area. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning. The manager and inspector carried out a joint observation of garden activities.

My daughter has been attending Little Legs for the past two and a half years. We absolutely love the nursery and staff and because it's such a small and personal care setting, it almost functions as an extended family for the children because the staff know all of them very well. Communication with the nursery and feedback on what my daughter has been doing during the day is excellent. She really enjoys all of the activities and playing outside. She comes home generally exhausted but very happy and never not wants to go to nursery. Behavioural stages have always been supported positively and with empathy. My older child was at a much bigger nursery but I definitely prefer this close, family feel setting. It really seems to have suited my daughter who has come on leaps and bounds since she started. It's a little gem and we're glad to have found it!

Both my children attend this nursery and they are very happy. My oldest child has disabilities and the staff have taken on courses and training in order to provide the care he needs such as due to being completely peg fed the staff have received and passed their training to feed him. They have a great system to keep parents updated on their child’s day via an app. All staff are professional and are always so friendly.

My children have very fond memories of this nursery! The nursery communicates well regarding any issues, ranging from adverse weather to gov guidelines, to inevitable bumps kids have. There is a wide range of activities organised, visits by paramedics, dentist, some things you would never have a chance to organise yourself at home! My kids have learnt so much and were well prepared for school. The nursery is clean and is just a home from home for the children.

Excellent nursery, which I couldn't rate highly enough. Our son attended from the age of 1, just after they opened, to when he left for school at age 4. Wonderful, attentive staff who know the children very well. It felt like an extension of our family.
