Little Lockets Nursery, which opened its doors on May 6th, 2014, offers a nurturing environment where children from 3 months to 4 years old can flourish at their own pace while engaging in enjoyable activities. The nursery prides itself on high-quality childcare delivered by experienced and qualified staff, all of whom have undergone enhanced DBS checks.

Its facilities include an outdoor area featuring a mud kitchen and a vegetable and flower patch, encouraging children to connect with nature. The nursery is structured with different rooms catering to specific age groups: "Jelly Babies" for 3 months to 2 years, "Jelly Tots" for 2-3 years, and "Jelly Beans" for 3-4 years.

Each room is thoughtfully designed with various activity areas, from peaceful sleep rooms for infants to engaging craft, construction, and role-play spaces for older children. The "Jelly Beans" preschool room focuses on preparing children for school, promoting independence in self-care and decision-making, alongside academic readiness in literacy and mathematics.

Meals are freshly prepared daily in a large kitchen and dining room, with children encouraged to serve themselves snacks and drinks. The nursery also features a library/cloakroom for borrowing books and story sacks, fostering a love for reading.

Learning Journeys, based on the EYFS curriculum, document each child's progress and are available for parents to review and keep. The nursery is OFSTED registered and committed to providing a stimulating and supportive setting for early childhood development.

What it's like

Children are well-supported to feel safe and secure. They form positive relationships with staff, who provide comfort and reassurance. Children enjoy being physically active and develop new skills like pedalling tricycles. They learn about different cultures through food and benefit from effective use of additional funding for individual needs.

Pricing & funding

Fees are structured on an hourly basis and vary depending on the child's age band. Out-of-school and holiday clubs are charged at separate hourly or session rates. Voluntary contributions are requested for meals and digital services for children receiving government funding.
