Little Minds Nursery provides full-day childcare for children aged 9 months to 5 years, focusing on a play-based learning approach where children lead their own play, supported by adults. The nursery prioritises children's well-being as fundamental to their engagement in learning, emphasising the importance of outdoor education as a classroom without limits.
It aims to foster perseverance, overcome challenges, and develop independence in children by providing ample time for them to learn, think, speak, and do. The nursery cultivates a strong family ethos, creating a home-like atmosphere for children, families, and staff.
It strongly believes that a happy team leads to happy children and, in turn, happy families. Located in a beautiful rural countryside setting, Little Minds Nursery offers unique learning opportunities and is easily accessible from local towns, including Yate.
The curriculum, referred to as "FUTURE," focuses on foundational life skills, understanding the world, a love of language, recognising each child's uniqueness, building resilience and independence, and providing engaging experiences. The nursery's pedagogy centres on the child, utilising a blended approach with a strong focus on child-initiated play and planning in the moment, guided by the Birth to 5 matters framework.
Staff act as facilitators, encouraging exploration, interaction with materials, and imitation of positive role models to support children's natural desire to learn. The nursery monitors progress through an online journal, keeping parents updated, and key workers provide two reports annually with achievable and aspiring targets for each child.
The ultimate goal is to nurture every child's independence, self-esteem, and full potential as they transition to "Big School" or their next learning adventure.

parents say staff share plenty of information with them and usefully incorporate things children do at home into their nursery learning.
Inclusion & environment
Key persons observe children and carefully outline next steps in their development. They work closely with management and parents to help children get any additional support they may need and close gaps in children's learning.
Children have lots of opportunities to be active in the fresh air and develop their physical skills. Babies enjoy exploring the nursery's outdoor area, two-year-olds undertake their 'daily mile' in the park, and pre-school children relish their forest school sessions.
My daughter has attended here since before she turned one. I was initially so worried about leaving her but the staff at Little Minds have been welcoming, friendly and kind since day one. They put so much effort into all of the special occasions such as mothers day/fathers day, I love seeing the observations about what they have been getting up to and I feel like they know the children really well. It's such a lovely feeling when my daughter holds her arms out to the staff and waves me off, I know she must be safe and having lots of fun.
Read on GoogleLittle minds is absolutely fantastic! As a parent, you can leave your child with total peace of mind that they will get a wonderful nursery experience. All of the staff are kind, caring and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. They take the time to get to know your child deeply and look after them in every way. My daughter has thrived in their care and has been totally prepared for her transition to school. They challenge the children appropriately with fun and engaging activities. The setting is beautiful within a countryside surrounding.
Read on GoogleI cannot recommend Little Minds nursery enough. Our small one has done so well there and has come on leaps and bounds. The staff are all so kind (to both the children and parents!) and they always welcome the children with big smiles. My little one is excited to go to nursery and the staff do a wide range of activities that the children enjoy (including baking, walks, water play, reading, and as someone who values a semi-clean house, I wouldn’t even attempt some of the messy fun that they get up to!!). Also, the food selection that is served is varied, some of which I also wouldn’t normally cook at home - which is great for them to try. Before returning to work at the end of my maternity leave I felt very anxious about the prospect of nursery, but I honestly have no regrets due to the progression that my little one has had and also how much she has enjoyed it. Thank you very much to the Little Minds team!
Read on GoogleLittle Minds has been a wonderful and caring nursery for my son. He’s made little friendships, been on all sorts of adventures, created a lot of craft, and always comes out with a smile on his face. Laura and her team have made a brilliant place for little people, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!
Read on GoogleIt is hard to express how wonderful Little Minds is as an early years setting! Every single member of staff is so dedicated to nurturing the children. They are caring, adventurous and inspiring, and really work hard to offer the children a wide breadth of learning every single day. Laura is an excellent manager, and the team are so great for parents to communicate with. Thank you for everything you have done for our family.
