Age range
Under 2s (with a separate base room who join older children for specific activities), and mixed age groups for children aged 2 to 4 years.
Little Orchard Montessori Nurseries aims to foster a nurturing and supportive environment where children can freely explore their interests, learn at their own pace, and enjoy their developmental journey. The nurseries implement the renowned Montessori Method, offering a rich array of activities designed to engage each child and encourage their natural curiosity.
These settings are intentionally sized to provide a personalised approach to each child's development while also being large enough to facilitate social interaction and skill-building with peers. They cater to varied age groups, even blending them in certain activities to promote compassion, understanding, and respect among children.
Children as young as two years old are grouped with those up to four, differing slightly from traditional Montessori structures due to the UK school starting age, while still maintaining a three-year age range for peer learning. The nursery focuses on supporting children's self-confidence and self-esteem as they learn from and assist their younger counterparts, fostering a sense of accomplishment and empathy.

Inclusion & environment
Older children enjoy running and jumping outdoors, experiencing feeling 'out of breath' and building their heart strength. They develop core strength and balance while crossing a balance beam and obstacle course. They know when to line up before going downstairs to play outdoors.
My girl started here during covid so we were not even allowed inside the nursery at the time. They were very helpful and did lots of video's. They use apps to keep us upto date on her day and chat to us at collection too. My girl loves to go here and she wonders off excited and comes out shoving her art work in my face at the end of the day too. She is 1 and 9m and has been going since 4 months. I know we made the right choice
