Magic Steps Nursery in West Drayton offers exceptional childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years, fostering a secure and stimulating environment. The nursery prioritises integrated indoor and outdoor play to encourage learning and exploration.
Staff are highly qualified, experienced, and undergo continuous training to meet and surpass EYFS standards, with routine CRB checks ensuring child safety. Magic Steps is recognised for its innovative approach to day care, providing advice on funding and tax credits to make childcare more accessible, and also offers corporate childcare solutions for businesses.
The nursery is committed to creating a caring space that fosters free expression, creativity, and curiosity. They aim to unlock learning potential by providing rich environments with irresistible stimuli and contexts for play, exploration, and conversation.
The approach focuses on helping children become confident and independent, encouraging imagination, and building relationships. Observing children's thoughts and emotions, allowing growth without limiting expectations, discussing feelings, and reflecting all seven EYFS learning areas indoors and outdoors are key aspects of their philosophy.
They encourage children to make their own discoveries and ensure complete safety through rigorous health and safety routines. Each child maintains an individual learning journal to track their development through observations and photos, informing future learning opportunities.
The curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, adapted to each child's age and abilities, ensuring a high-quality experience that supports their care, learning, and development. They actively observe children during play and everyday activities, learning from parents to identify developmental pathways and plan enriching experiences.
Our ethos
At Magic Steps Nursery, we believe children need to be challenged and encouraged to take risks to unlock their learning, in a framework of security and safety. We aim to provide a high quality, play-based experience in an ecologically friendly, well designed, well organised, integrated indoor and outdoor environment. We are committed to providing a caring place, with learning spaces for free expression, creativity and curiosity; unlocking the potential of learning by offering rich environments full of irresistible stimuli, context for play, exploration and conversation; helping your child to become confident and independent, whilst at the same time encouraging them to use their imaginations and, importantly, have fun; and working with the children to help build and develop relationships – their relationships with each other, a caring adult and the space around them. Our values and beliefs underpin what we do every day so that all decisions lead us in the right direction to effectively support how we make a difference to the children in our care, including listening carefully to children, allowing them to grow without limiting expectations, discussing feelings and caring for each other, reflecting all seven learning areas of the EYFS both indoors and outdoors, giving children space to make their own discoveries, providing continuous staff training, and ensuring complete safety and warmth through rigorous health and safety routines. We also support extra-curricular activities financially where possible, but may occasionally require parental contributions.

Inclusion & environment
The nursery's special educational needs coordinator works closely with other professionals to support individual children's needs. The manager has high expectations for all children and uses additional funding to ensure that children from disadvantaged backgrounds and children with special educational needs and/or disabilities have access to the curriculum and make good progress.
Staff support children to develop their physical skills effectively. Children have regular access to the outdoor space and use this to run, climb and kick balls. They manage their coordination as they climb up and down the climbing equipment and navigate around obstacles as they run.
