Millie's Day Nursery, founded by Michelle Ryan with over 30 years of childcare experience, began in her home in 2017 and expanded to a second site in Borehamwood in October 2021. The Borehamwood location, open 48 weeks a year and catering to children from 9 months to 5 years, is conveniently situated in Meadow Park near local transport links and main roads.
It features a detached, single-level building with three classrooms and four distinct garden spaces. In contrast, the Shenley nursery operates term-time only (38 weeks a year) from 8 am to 4 pm, also serving children aged 9 months to 5 years, within Shenley Village Hall, offering ample green spaces and easy parking.
Millie's is committed to fostering curiosity through play, providing various sessions, and focusing on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. The nursery encourages active travel options like walking and cycling, offering bike storage facilities, and provides guidance on public transport and car access.

Inclusion & environment
Overall, children behave well, and staff meet their individual needs appropriately. However, some children in the toddler room require more support than others. The manager recognises this and is currently working in the toddler room to provide staff with additional guidance.
Older children respond positively to changes in the normal routine throughout the day. They listen to the staff carefully as they explain that the rain is too heavy to play outside safely. Children happily watch the weather through the window and talk keenly to staff about the changes that they can see taking place.
