Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are exceptionally well supported at the nursery. Staff work proactively with families and a wide range of external professionals to address emerging gaps in children's development. Bespoke support plans identify targeted strategies that enable children to make the best possible progress from their starting points.
The outdoor environment across the nursery provides rich opportunities for exploration and physical development. Children navigate obstacle courses that strengthen coordination and core strength. For example, staff have developed a construction site role-play area in the garden, where children wear hard hats and high-visibility jackets, and stack bricks with foam 'cement'.
We have had both our kids go through nursery at TAS. One in Elstree/Sullivan way and one here in Borehamwood. The staff across all their settings are just amazing. Our elder child left TAS to go to school very prepared, mature and outgoing. The staff really know what they are doing and deal with the transitions between rooms so well, communicate with parents daily on the door as well as doing parent consultations (in person or online) once a term which is a really nice way to see the setting and know how they are getting on. The nursery also do events each year where parents are invited in e.g. Diwali, sports day, even grandparents day. A lot of people say to get the kids into the school preschools as they are better for them than nursery, but honestly this nursery goes above and beyond and we couldnt be happier!
Read on GoogleBoth my little ones are happy and settled at TAS. The staff work very hard to ensure the children are safe and thriving. The communication with parents, involvement and feedback is much appreciated. What we particularly like in the 3+ class is getting the children 'school ready' woth regards to helping with their independence and education
