About this day nursery

Montessori Kindergarten Ilfracombe is a dedicated early years setting that embraces the Montessori philosophy while also adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. Located in the heart of Ilfracombe within the beautifully renovated Trinity rooms, this detached Victorian building boasts a fully enclosed, high-walled garden with ample play space.

The kindergarten provides a warm and nurturing environment for up to 18 children, ranging from two years old to rising fives. The committed staff, experienced and passionate, are devoted to delivering exceptional care and education.

The sole provider, Karen, brings over 25 years of experience in early childhood education, including a decade as a group leader in a Montessori Preschool in Queensland, Australia, where she earned an Advanced Montessori Certificate in Early Years Education. The kindergarten operates 51 weeks a year, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with some bank holidays included, and is closed for the Christmas period.

The mission is to foster personal growth, self-motivation, self-esteem, and confidence in each child through a variety of activities, promoting development across social, emotional, creative, physical, and spiritual domains. The nursery aims to instil a love for learning and respect for the world around them through exploration, creativity, and nurturing curiosity.

Montessori Kindergarten Ilfracombe is a welcoming community for both children and their families, conveniently situated within walking distance of schools and shops, with a small parking area for drop-offs and collections. The nursery also accepts EYEF funding for two, three, and four-year-old children.

Pricing & funding

Charges are structured around full day and half-day sessions, with fees subject to change on a termly basis. Rates include morning and afternoon tea. Please note that half-day sessions are not offered on Fridays.
