Inclusion & environment
Staff have high expectations of what children can achieve, including for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Leaders work in partnership with parents at every stage, including with additional funding applications and referrals to external agencies. Staff work with a range of other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to support individual children.
Staff use hand signals and a clear use of the word "stop" to discourage children who are finding it difficult to take it in turns on play equipment.
Children who speak English as an additional language are well supported to develop strong communication skills and become highly engaged in their learning and show curiosity about the world around them.
We moved our eldest to this nursery in Jan 2025. We were previously at an outstanding nursery further away (the care and provision was fantastic, but the travel there became too much). Since day one at Montessori, we have been so impressed. They do everything they mentioned on our initial walk around and more. Alongside the consistent exceptional care, detailed handovers and varied food menu, the nursery offers so much more than we were expecting. There are real world experiments (such as placing the same plant on various windowsills, to learn how the position of the sun affects the growth of each), weekly curriculum topics (my toddler now knows more than me about so many things including the solar system, how rain forms, how ladybirds grow..), monthly newsletter packed with updates about what the children have been up to, regular stay and plays (parents can go into nursery to get involved in their activities), other events like a summer fayre, charity events, Christmas Nativity.. incredible in-nursery prep for school movers, regular excursions to local areas including Moortown park, libraries, Little Leeds and tropical world. I could go on! Our baby has also recently started, and after an introductory session where I told them about his interests, I was so taken aback to see that the next day they had set up a whole activity based on his favourite things, to try and help him settle more. The management team couldn't be more helpful with answering questions and accommodating requests for extra days/swaps. No request ever seems too much to ask. Thank you so much to all staff at Montessori, who make it such an incredible place for our children.
Read on GoogleOur child recently started attending this nursery (was previously at an outstanding rated nursery) I think this nursery is brilliant and in my opinion, better than the previous nursery. We receive detailed handovers upon collection, regular weekly updates via the app and we are notified immediately of any accidents. Most importantly, my child seems happier here than at the previous nursery. They are also developing at a quicker pace. The staff including the registered manager are helpful, approachable and nurturing.
Read on GoogleWe’ve been so happy with our nursery. My son has always been well cared for, nurtured and respected for who he is. Now he’s in the pre-school room the Montessori approach is so well established and he’s gained so many skills. There’s something interesting and different happening every day. Staff are lovely - the manager and room leads have always been knowledgable and approachable. Our daughter is due to start in baby room soon and I feel confident to recommend the setting to family and friends.
Read on GoogleSent our child here. Development from here compared to a normal nursery, I’d say the Montessori is below par. Sometimes there is a dog there and my child has allergies. Wouldn’t recommend
Read on GoogleI couldn't recommend this nursery more. Our little one spent four wonderful years here, and enrolling her at Montessori was the best decision we ever made. The staff is incredible, always ensuring she felt happy and loved. It has been an amazing journey, and I am so grateful for the love and care you all have shown for our precious child. Wishing all the best to this amazing team! If you are looking for a nursery that feels like a second home, you've found the perfect place. 🌸
