Mount Park Montessori Nursery, a family-operated institution, has been an integral part of the Pitshanger Lane community for over three decades, educating generations of children. The nursery embraces the Montessori teaching philosophy, alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
This approach emphasizes respect for each child's individuality, allowing them freedom of choice in their learning journey within a meticulously prepared environment. Children are encouraged to learn from their peers, fostering collaboration and imitation, while developing intrinsic motivation and independence.
The Montessori method also acknowledges the close link between movement and cognition, the child's 'absorbent mind' and their natural curiosity during 'sensitive periods' of development. This holistic educational experience focuses on the child's physical, intellectual, and social growth through spontaneous activities, repetition, and hands-on learning with classroom objects.

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
"Parents speak positively about the nursery. They comment on how supportive and approachable both the manager and staff are. They share that they receive good communication from the nursery, which provides them with information about their children's learning."
Inclusion & environment
Children learn to navigate space as they run and find hidden treasure in the large hall. They develop their balance as they jump hurdles. Children recognise numbers displayed in the garden and eagerly move them to read backwards.
A fantastic Montessori whereby the Montessori approach is effectively applied. My son thrived here in a short amount of time, the wholesome environment made him feel safe and confident. My son has only recently started school, and the staff have noted how confident he is with the core skills, which are repeated and embedded every day. I would highly recommend Mount Park and will be sending my youngest here when she is older.
Read on GoogleIt is amazing to see all the work my daughter brought home from nursery everyday. It is incredibly how much thought and effort they put into planning the activities. They are the very best starting point my child could ever have for her education.
