Mr Bee's Springwood Family Centre offers education and childcare for children aged 2 to 12. Established in 2006, it provides both a nursery and an out-of-school club.
The nursery operates from the premises of Springwood High School and is led by Matthew Foulkes, who progressed from an apprentice to Centre Lead. The dedicated team of Early Years Practitioners strives to deliver high-quality care, focusing on the individual needs of each child.
The centre features distinct rooms like "Tobee" for construction, imagination, and exploration, and "Busy Bee" for creativity and relaxation. Conveniently located near Reffley Woods and local playgrounds, it also has access to the high school playing fields, making it ideal for working parents, particularly those employed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The nursery also offers pick-up and drop-off services from St Martha’s and Gaywood Primary schools.

Inclusion & environment
Leaders and managers identify where children have gaps in their learning and put in place specific plans to help them to make better progress. Each day, staff lead purposeful small-group activities to help children to catch up with their peers in any areas in which they are identified as needing extra support.
Outdoors, children gather together to make 'tiger food' by digging for the mud and mixing it with water. Many children choose to spend a long time playing actively in the outdoor area, which contributes to their well-being and physical fitness.
Those children who speak English as a second or additional language make good progress in acquiring English.
Both of my children attend Mr Bee’s (one in nursery and one in breakfast and after school club). The staff are amazing! They help the children to develop, they care for them and they love them. I couldn’t ask for more. I never have to worry that they’re not happy and being looked after.
