I’ve been going to the children’s centre for a while and had no previous complaints. My child is speech delayed and had been put for a priority to attend one of the sessions every Friday which is quite structured, and I am very grateful for that. The other day we were running late as my child made a poop just before leaving the house and no way I would take my child without cleaning her. I called the receptionist and let her know of the situation and informed about us running late. We reached exactly 5 minutes which was the cut off time and ran towards the door to let the receptionist know that were there but she did not allow us to enter. She instead decided to stop us and discuss for another 5 minutes before letting the session know of our arrival and of course by then we were 10 minutes late which means too late. I am very unhappy about how the situation was handled. I as a mother on top of half way of expecting another one did make an effort to get both of us ready and went all the way there so that I can see any little development on my child. My child on the other hand does not speak but do understand why we were there and for someone of her age getting turned out is not fair. Well it was that one off time and my little one will certainly not poop every time before we visit the centre, and it wasn’t considered on that way so I have decided to take my child off the priority list and find something else instead for her to be involved where she will not be turned out for sometimes as silly as the reason mentioned. Well I had this experience which made me feel somewhat guilty and very bad for my little one but every mother have their own experiences.
