Newpark Childcare Centre, established in 2004, provides outstanding childcare for children aged 0–4 years. Open each weekday from 7am until 7pm, the centre operates all year round.
The setting provides a tremendously vibrant and exciting environment where children quickly settle and form positive attachments with their key person. Staff deployment is excellent, ensuring all children are consistently engaged in play and learning.
The centre makes excellent use of local resources, with children enjoying daily outings to secure local parks, museums, and a library, fostering a secure sense of self within their community. The curriculum is inspirational, ambitious, and well-planned, integrating the Montessori teaching methods to promote children's interests and individual needs, leading to extremely positive outcomes.
Staff are highly qualified and experienced, with one member holding qualified teacher status, and they provide exceptional opportunities to promote communication and language skills. The centre places a strong emphasis on literacy and mathematics, and staff encourage fine motor activities, such as copying letters in flour, in preparation for early writing.
All children, including babies, benefit from excellent opportunities to extend and practice their physical skills indoors and during outings, mastering stairs and slopes with increasing ease. There are exceptional partnerships with parents, who describe the nursery as "very special," and they are kept well informed of their children's progress through regular meetings, learning journals, and daily verbal feedback.

Newpark Barbican is a truly special place and I couldn’t have hoped for a better start for my children. The staff are nurturing and the environment is calm, kind and inspiring. They understood my children and wanted the best for them. In nearly 5 years I had no concerns at all about their care - my only concern was whether any other environment they encountered would ever measure up.
Read on GoogleNewPark Barbican is the most wonderful nursery we could have ever dreamed of for Francesco's first years. He completely thrived under the care of Natalia and her fabulous team and made great friends. We were in awe of the team's constant attention, kindness and imagination in creating the most stimulating and warm environment for the little ones. Recommend wholeheartedly!
Read on GoogleFrom the very first moment, we knew this was the right place for our child. Having just moved to London, choosing the right nursery was a big decision—especially since our son was only two and a half years old and didn’t yet speak English. The warm and welcoming approach we received from Natalia during our visit and beyond reassured us that we had made the right choice. The nursery has a true family-like environment, supported by brilliant and caring staff. The learning opportunities are diverse and engaging—our son especially loved the drama classes and gardening lessons. He also enjoyed the delicious and healthy meals prepared by great chef Ricardo. What made the nursery even more special was how they kept us involved in our son's daily life. We received a special book tracking his progress, along with event recordings, like his birthdays, all thoughtfully created with care and attention. Even though our son has now moved on, we still keep in touch and visit from time to time. This speaks to the special bond the staff created, and we truly appreciate it. 💜
Read on GoogleWhat an amazing nursery. My son started at 1 year and 2 months old, and is leaving now at almost 4 years old to go to a nearby school. From day 1 we felt the warmth and care of the staff, starting with First in Charge, Natalia Bohun. All my questions were considered and answered, they always made time for parents with 1 to one meetings, parents evenings with great food, and details of how your child’s day was at pick up time. My son Gabi made amazing friends at this nursery and he seemed to love every day! They valued these early friendships, they potty trained Gabi, taught him how to eat with a fork and knife (at 1 I was very happy for him to just eat with his hands), and he learned so much I cannot describe it all here. But the most important part is how, and I can tell that cuddles were bountiful, they had the patience and techniques required of a nursery and somehow they managed to keep it fun and organized for all of the kids there. I arrived in London with a 9 month old baby, single mum, no family here , and this nursery was my lifeline. I cannot thank you enough for the great job you have done and for all the support you have provided to me ! 🩷🩷 Congrats to barbican newpark, you’ll be forever with us.
Read on GoogleBoth our children went to Newpark and we couldn’t be happier with their experience. They (and we) developed close connections to the staff - who are wonderful and caring and always kept us up to date with their development. The staff guided our children through many milestones including potty training, the birth of our second child and moving. The environment is unique- despite the nursery being a small physical space itself, the children use the surrounding barbican gardens and center. Both our children also loved the exposure to outside activities - most notably drama and gardening. Also the food is excellent and I never worried if the children would eat well or be offered something yummy and nutritious. I would unreservedly recommend Newpark barbican to any parent.
