Newstead Road Pre-School, established in 1995, is a term-time childcare setting for children aged 2 to 4 years old. Open Monday to Thursday from 8:45 am to 3:00 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 12:45 pm, the pre-school provides a nurturing environment where children arrive happy and excited to meet staff, forming strong bonds and feeling valued and safe.
The staff, who have a very good knowledge of each child, plan and create an environment that enables children to learn and practise skills effectively.

Staff have a very good knowledge of children, planning an environment that enables them to learn and practise skills. Children are motivated by staff praise and are proud of their achievements, eagerly sharing them with parents.

- Children make bracelets and pasta necklaces, making good progress in their hand-to-eye coordination.
- Children work in small groups with staff to make play dough, taking turns and using tools to measure ingredients correctly.

How they support every child
SEND provision
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress. Leaders and managers work hard with parents to provide healthy packed lunches, especially for those children who have more complex needs.
Outdoor space
Children choose to play outdoors for extended periods. They go over to the water station to have a drink, understanding the importance of keeping themselves hydrated.

This preschool is fantastic, the staff are knowledgeable and caring. They went above and beyond to support my children settling in and feeling comfortable in their new environment, and were also very mindful of my feelings. My children have progressed wonderfully and been ready for school upon leaving, having really enjoyed their years there and made lots of good friends. This is easily the best preschool in the area, and I would recommend it to anyone.
