Inclusion & environment
Leaders and staff are determined to provide the best-quality care and education for all children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. They engage with other professionals to ensure all children make good progress from their starting points.
Children have daily access to fresh air as they visit a local park. They jump and skip, while others run as they join in with chasing games. Children confidently use climbing and sliding equipment and share space successfully.
Staff support children who speak English as an additional language effectively. Children hear their home languages at the nursery and staff use other supportive techniques, such as the use of visuals. This leads to children becoming confident talkers.
We came across the NHN by chance and could not reccomend it more highly - it is run by a wonderful family, who are fully immersed in the day to day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest of standards, which is very rare for central London. Soraiya and Denise are simply wonderful, loving, unbelievably professional … any child starting their schooling life here is immensely lucky!!! Notting Hill’s best kept secret!
Read on GoogleIt's hard to know where to begin when talking about Notting Hill Nursery School. My son has been with them since he was just 14 months old, and now as I look back, I genuinely cannot imagine our lives without the love, patience, and dedication they’ve poured into him (and myself!) As a first-time mom who recently left work to be a full-time mom, while also new to London from the US, I found a truly caring community—people who didn’t just “look after” my child, but truly knew him, and taught him more than I could ever begin to list. From his earliest words to his social skills, from building routines to teaching about the world—so much of his development is tied to the incredible staff who treat every child with individual care, gentleness, and respect. They are not just caregivers; they are educators in the purest and most genuine sense. They helped us through potty training (which I horribly failed at my first try on my own ha), and they approached it with kindness and encouragement. They’ve even noticed subtle things about my son before I did—times when something was off or he needed a little extra attention or reassurance and they always knew how to tailor to those moments - which I am always grateful for. I know that’s something you can’t train; it comes from genuine love and passion for the children and how they care for their development. To the NHNS team ~ Thank you for giving my son a safe, joyful, nurturing first nursery experience to thrive. We will never forget our son’s entire experience here, from bringing him during my visit of the nursery; to his first day at nursery and all the way until his last day. I would recommend this nursery to anyone! If you want your child to be in an environment where they are truly seen, deeply cared for, and guided with patience and wisdom, this is the place.
Read on GoogleWe were so lucky to have come across this fabulous nursery for our son, and it has been the best choice we have made for him thus far. The teachers are absolutely amazing in every way, they fully invest in every child and help them recognise and reach their full potential. I’ve been so impressed by what my son has learned- from Spanish to ballet, yoga and tarka, cooking and gardening, as well as learning crucial life skills in the path to becoming self sufficient and independent and confident little people. My son had the pleasure of having Miss Maggie as his teacher in his first year- she is so caring, patient and encouraging and helped him learn to express himself, whilst providing him with a stable, secure and nurturing environment. He was in Miss Denise’s class in his preschool year and she is so empathetic, passionate and encouraging with such a positive approach; she truly surpassed her duties as a teacher, providing us with crucial support through a very difficult time when he lost his grandmother. Miss Denise also provided me with guidance on how to best communicate and be there for my son through such a challenging time. She taught him writing and numeracy skills she provided a safe and caring space where he felt comfortable enough to feel his emotions whilst also learning to regulate them. Miss Denise, Miss Maggie, Miss Soraia and all the important staff have been so very kind and wonderful to my son and have provided endless cuddles and encouragement which has meant the world to me. I have always felt secure and content leaving him in their care. Miss Denise and Miss Soraia have created a wonderful haven for the children, I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough, I wish we all had this starting opportunity to build our foundations on the path become better and more self assured adults. I really wish they had a primary (and secondary) school. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at this amazing nursery, we are forever grateful for all your hard work and dedication. And a huge huge thank you from my son Micah, who says he doesn’t want nursery to end as he loves all his teachers and his friends there.
Read on GoogleYou honestly won’t find a warmer and more supportive nursery than this - it really is a very special place. Everyday you’re welcomed with smiles and fun. What more could a child ask for?! Our son has truly thrived in their care making the leap to "big school" feel so much more manageable. We're sad to wave goodbye but so grateful to have found them.
Read on GoogleMy daughter is usually a little shy and doesn’t connect easily with everyone, but her teachers here were so kind, energetic, and friendly that she truly fell in love with them. She even missed her teachers when the nursery was closed! The environment is exceptionally clean. I noticed the high standards of cleanliness from my very first visit. The educational program is excellent as well, and over the two years my daughter attended, I saw such a positive impact on her behavior. It was truly a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this nursery.
