Paint Pots Montessori School The Grove, located in Notting Hill, offers a year-round Montessori nursery experience within the Westbourne Grove Church. The nursery has undergone a full renovation, creating a modern space that retains period features.
From September 2021, the nursery caters to children aged 2 to 5 years, with a dedicated classroom divided into two areas: a larger space for gross and fine motor skill activities across the curriculum, and a smaller, windowed classroom for older children to engage with more advanced materials. Since September 2022, a second classroom has opened, offering a limited number of places to children from 12 months old, providing a calm, home-like environment with sensorial experiences, natural materials, aromatherapy, and gentle music.
The environment is designed to encourage freedom of movement and choice, with activities displayed at child-level. The curriculum seamlessly integrates the EYFS framework with Montessori principles.
Teachers observe children to understand their individual needs and interests, planning activities that challenge and extend their learning. The nursery emphasises connecting with nature, both indoors through nature tables, plants, and observing life cycles, and outdoors by utilising local parks and gardens for a variety of activities and learning experiences.
Nutritional meals are freshly prepared by trained chefs, focusing on healthy, varied, and seasonal menus, catering to diverse dietary needs. Mealtimes are a social event, encouraging interaction and the development of social skills and good table manners.
Older children participate in setting and clearing tables and have access to a snack table with healthy options.

My son has been at Paint Pots Bayswater for 2.5 years. Ms Vinni is a very passionate headteacher who believes in bringing out the best in her nursery children. Together with her team of caring and wonderful teachers, they encourage children to be kind, creative, and independent. My son always loved going to nursery and enjoyed the wide range of Montessori activities, as well as the weekly cooking, music lessons and outdoor visits to local gardens. I loved being able to access his learning and development through the regularly updated parent portal. I am so pleased we made the choice for Paint Pots. My younger son will be headed there too.
Read on GoogleHighly recommend this very special place with a truly caring and gentle team of teachers. My son was so happy to be at this nursery and would ask to go even during the holidays! The Montessori Education is centred on child led learning, which is inspiring and promotes a love of learning. I only wish they had a primary school to follow it!
