Ogwell Pre School, located in the village of East Ogwell near Newton Abbot, provides a warm and welcoming environment for children aged two to four years. Operating from the memorial hall, the pre-school has been serving the community since 1970, re-registering in 1992.

The setting is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 am to 3 pm, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am to 3 pm, during term-time only.

What it's like to attend

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff implement specific group work to support children with their speech. Children enjoy jumping in hoops while sounding out letters and words, such as 'b' for 'bear'. Staff clap out syllables in each word, helping children to hear and say these more easily.

Outdoor space

The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning. Staff provide children with good physical activity throughout the day. Children show how well they can safely navigate their way to the top of the climbing frame and slide back down. They show skill and competence as they accurately throw small balls into the tent.
