⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Care, Support, and Education at Oxford Day Nursery As the father of a daughter with severe speech delay and autism, finding the right support for her early years education was absolutely crucial. I can confidently say that Oxford Day Nursery in Ilford has been the best choice we made. My daughter attended the nursery from late 2023 until early 2025, and the level of care, expertise, and genuine compassion we received from Lorraine Long, the nursery manager, and the entire staff team was beyond exceptional. From the moment we enrolled, Lorraine's commitment to supporting children with additional needs was immediately clear. My daughter’s speech delay and autism required personalized care and attention, and Lorraine took the time to understand her needs, offering a tailored approach for her development. She didn't just oversee the daily activities at the nursery — Lorraine became an invaluable partner in helping our family navigate the complexities of securing educational support from local authorities. Under Lorraine’s guidance, we successfully secured an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) for my daughter, a key milestone that has enabled her to attend Hatchside Infants, a special school in Goodmayes Lane, where she is now thriving. The process was overwhelming, but Lorraine was there every step of the way — advising us on how to approach the local authorities, ensuring we understood each step, and offering emotional support when we needed it most. It’s rare to find such dedication in a nursery manager, and Lorraine’s expertise and persistence made a profound impact on our journey. The nursery's teaching staff is equally outstanding. Every member of the team goes above and beyond to ensure the children feel supported, understood, and valued. They were always proactive in communicating with me, whether it was about my daughter’s progress or offering advice on how we could continue her development at home. They are not just teachers but true advocates for the children they care for, and that made all the difference. Oxford Day Nursery truly stands out in the Redbridge and Ilford IG1 area for several reasons: 1. Personalized Care for Children with Special Needs. 2. Outstanding Partnerships with Parents. 3. Clear Focus on Early Intervention and Development. 4. A Safe, Nurturing, and Stimulating Environment. 5. Commitment to Ongoing Professional Development. 6. Positive Relationships and Emotional Development. 7. Advocacy and Parent Support. FinalThoughts Oxford Day Nursery is an outstanding nursery, and I truly believe it deserves the highest possible rating from Ofsted. The care, dedication, and expertise shown by Lorraine Long, her team of teachers, and all the supporting staff have had an immeasurable impact on my daughter’s educational journey. Thanks to their support, my daughter is now flourishing at her special school, and I will forever be grateful to the entire team. If you're seeking a nursery in the Redbridge area that provides exceptional care and support for children, including those with additional needs, look no further than Oxford Day Nursery. Their commitment to excellence and to the well-being and development of every child is evident in everything they do. I wholeheartedly recommend this nursery, and I believe it deserves an "Outstanding" rating for the incredible work they do. Thank you, Lorraine, and thank you to all the wonderful staff at Oxford Day Nursery for everything you’ve done for my daughter and our family!

We were very nervous about sending our son to a nursery until we visited here! To start off with, the interior is so thoughtfully decorated; there seems to be a space for everything, and the whole nursery benefits from endless natural light, giving the whole space a nice, airy feel. With all the kids there, it never looked congested (or like a dark holding room like some nursery we visited!). Kids have plenty of space to move around. Secondly, and most importantly, the staff there are fantastic! They genuinely seem to care about the kids and bond with them. They’ve always got a smile on their face when you talk to them and are always approachable. A special shout out to Theresa, who’s our son’s key person; my son’s obsessed with her! The child that started there a year ago to now is completely different, and Theresa had a key role in all his development. The other thing that was really impressive for me was how there is an emphasis from all the staff to get your child ready for reception. It’s a key driver for them and embedded in their daily activities they do with all the kids. I have endless nice things to say about everyone at Oxford Day Nursery. I highly recommend them!

I called up to arrange a viewing of this nursery for my daughter, we agreed on a date and time. I arrived 5 minutes late and the lady who opened the door was very rude and told me I’m late and cannot come in while hiding behind the door. This was my first impression which was not welcoming at all why on earth would anyone want to send their child here. Such a lack of care and respect. I couldn’t even imagine what goes on inside this nursery. This has completely put me off and I asked another mother who used to send her child here and she said avoid this place because they never told her how her child was doing, what he ate, what progress he made. Please avoid

I couldn’t recommend Oxford Day enough! Both as a parent and a former teacher. My son has been attending for two years and he absolutely loves it. He used to go to a wonderful nursery as a baby and I thought I wouldn’t find one similar when we moved but I’m so happy this gem was local. The staff are professional and friendly, they really go above and beyond and talk about my son with such affection. They pay attention to his interests and will create activities or read books that relate. He’s always excited to tell me about specific new books that the nursery have bought or messy play activities that he’s done. His conversational skills have really developed and he has made lots of friends - both in staff and other children. He has a key worker Iram who along with Lorraine keep me updated on his development and suggestions of things to try at home when I do come across a parenting challenge (with no judgement). They really care about both your child and yourself. All staff members, despite having key children of their own, have built a bond with my son. He refers to Isma as his best friend and how he will take her on a plane, he loves it when Theresa sings songs and her playfulness. Overall an excellent nursery. What else would any parent want when they know their little one is happy and developing well in a nice, safe and homely environment.

My daughter has been at this nursery for about 8 months now, (started when she was about 2.5 yrs old) and she has been having a great time, thoroughly enjoying her days there. She is always excited to go and whenever I pick her up, it’s with a big smile on her face. I can see significant progress in her communication and social skills, which is very encouraging. The staff are really friendly and have been accommodating to my changing needs, which, as a working parent, I truly appreciate. The environment is nice and clean, which puts me even more at ease. A special thanks to Lorraine for always responding to my emails promptly and providing advice when needed, to Iram, my daughter’s key person, who always has a smile on her face and to Theresa, who often shares funny stories about what my daughter has been up to during the day!
