Areas to develop

  • 1Inconsistencies in staff following correct risk assessments and procedures, leading to an incident where a child left their room and was out of sight and hearing of staff for a short period within the nursery.
  • 2The provider does not ensure that staff accurately and reliably record accidents, meaning inconsistent information sharing with parents about minor injuries and treatment.
  • 3Records regarding any complaints the nursery receives are incomplete or inconsistent, meaning no accurate record of complaints and investigation outcomes are available to share with Ofsted.
  • 4Teaching is occasionally imprecise, and children do not have the support they need to build on their early reading and writing skills, sometimes leaving children confused by words that do not look like they sound.
  • 5Staff do not always consider how to challenge views and beliefs that could compromise their inclusive and diverse curriculum.
  • 6Some outdoor areas are tired and in need of repair, particularly outdoors. Some parts of the garden are cluttered and unkempt so not able to be used by children. On occasion, some resources are positioned too high up on the wall meaning children cannot see them.

I cannot praise this nursery highly enough. My son enjoyed 3 and a half amazing years here and loved every minute of it. The staff are personable, hard working and above all else, caring. Throughout each of the rooms that my son went through, all members of staff were happy to help him with every stage and phase he went through. I think what is a testament to the staff in Bambinos is the way they reacted and dealt with the recent pandemic. They were efficient and careful which they still are, as well as kept the best interest of staff, family and children at the forefront of every decision. My son went to nursery throughout lockdown as I am a key worker and he still had the best of times. We have always felt welcomed and I have always felt like I knew what my son was up to, be that through their online gateway, their Friday run down emails or the chats at pick up time. The staff at Bambinos have always got time for you. The grounds of the nursery are second to none. There is a playground for each of the rooms as well as a huge field for the children to play in. There, there are vegetables grown, water play and one of their newest members of staff is even training for a forest school qualification. If the weather is clement I.e. not raining, the kids are out and that is amazing. Unfortunately, we have had to move out of the area to be closer to family but having looked round other nurseries now in a different county, I fully realise how fantastic Bambinos is, as well as reasonable in terms of rates. I am a teacher and they have always been very helpful with my holidays etc. You would be mad not to send your child to this nursery!
