The manager has completed training to learn sign language, which has been introduced into staff practice and benefits younger children and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

Children explore their sensory garden, jump on stepping stones, identify animals, and look for bugs. Staff sing songs with babies and toddlers while they enjoy the fresh air and get lots of exercise. Children are encouraged to consider small risks in their environment, for example, by looking for hazards in the garden with staff.

Absolutely love this nursery – it’s extremely well run with fantastic staff who clearly know each child so well. You can really see the strong bonds between staff and children. The environment is calm, child-focused, and really encourages independence. I always enjoy visiting – the team is so welcoming and genuinely happy in their work, which really shows in how settled and emotionally secure the children are. Highly recommend!

I visit The Old Station Nursery on Tuesdays for Phonics with Robot Reg sessions with the Over 2s. Every week, I am greeted by smiling faces from the children in the room. It is clear that the staff at The Old Station Nursery are nurturing and kind as the children are very happy all of the time. The facilities are lovely - lots of natural, wooden toys and a lovely outdoor space for the children to explore. I would thoroughly recommend The Old Station Nursery to anyone looking for a kind, safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for their child!

Our 9-month-old daughter has been thriving since she started at the nursery, thanks to the team's commitment to creating a nurturing environment. We are delighted to see how well she has adapted.
