Inclusion & environment
Overall, children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported well. Some staff are trained to use British Sign Language during conversations and play to help children communicate their needs. Staff work well with families and other professionals to ensure they receive the support they need. However, there are slight inconsistencies across the staff team in recognising gaps in children's learning, particularly the youngest children, which can lead to delays in children receiving targeted intervention.
Overall, children benefit from plenty of fresh air and exercise. They develop and practise their physical skills as they ride on tricycles, run around, jump and explore the outdoor space. Staff help children learn to manage risks for themselves as they build obstacle courses, and provide many opportunities for children to explore the outside. However, staff do not organise the outdoor area as well as the indoor spaces to support the curriculum intent fully.
I signed my children up to the holiday club this summer after a bit of a disasterous experience at another one and I am so pleased that I did! As a Sen mum - you are naturally worried about how your child will cope in any setting but I was reassured from the get go. The team were so inclusive, friendly and welcoming. They treated my child as an individual and didn’t make assumptions based of her disability…. And I had full confidence Leaving her in Claire’s capable hands. All my children have really enjoyed their time at this setting and have come home full of smiles and stories of what they have been up to that day…..as well as falling asleep quickly after being put to bed! Thank you to Kelli, Amy and the team for all your hard work this summer. I’m so greatful.
Read on GoogleFantastic Nursery, lovely staff, happy baby! Our child (12m) had been attending Children's House full time 5 days a week for 3 months now and he loves it. The staff all know him by name, he is stimulated, challenged, encouraged, and well fed! He comes home happy if tired. We love how much time he spends outdoors and also hearing about his day from the staff and on the nursery's app - they even have the occasional picture! We would love to continue to use the Nursery until school age - and we strongly recommend it to our friends and family.

My twins have been there since they were 9 months, they’re now 2 and we couldn’t ask for better in a childcare setting. The care and love they receive is perfect. We love the activities, garden space and the fun they have in their care. We would always recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a place for their child.
