How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities extremely well. They have a deep understanding of their needs. They liaise with parents and other professionals to put care plans in place to ensure a consistent approach to their care. Staff have a flexible approach and respond quickly to children's emerging needs and abilities. As a result, these children make good progress.

Outdoor space

Older children learn to climb and jump outdoors. Children learn to manage their personal needs. Staff teach them to wash their hands before meals and to put on their own shoes to go outdoors. Children learn to keep themselves safe. Staff remind them to sit down when eating and to take care when walking on slippery sand.

We love it here. The staff don’t appear to have changed at all in the 18 months we have been here. All staff are attentive, know all our names and have time to talk every morning and evening so we know exactly what our child has done that day; play, eating, sleep etc. Each child has a key worker who stays assigned to the child and is like a third parent. They really try to involve us in our child’s life at nursery and upload photos / daily routines. They always answer the phone and have time to discuss any issues we may have. During the pandemic they were amazing to parents and froze our fees until we felt it was safe to return. Absolutely amazing service. Health and safety in the nursery is strict but brilliant to keep our kids safe.

Nelly’s Nursery, Turney Road is a fantastic nursery that thoroughly deserves its Outstanding rating. Loving, caring and dedicated staff and my son comes home everyday happy and exhausted from a full day of activities and fun with his friends. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

A lovely nurturing environment, the staff really know the children. Both my daughters have been very happy and thrived there, developing strong relationships with their key workers. Nellys is good at updating parents both via their online Tapestry website and informally at the nursery door. During visits to the nursery (pre Covid) the rooms are busy, active places with children engaged in a variety of activities. They work to follow the children’s interests and prompting them to try new things.
