Pippins Pre-School and Nursery offers an inclusive and friendly environment for children aged 0-5 years, with a history spanning over 50 years. The setting prioritises the needs of each child, aiming to provide a strong start for their future through nurturing bonds, consistent praise, and encouragement.
Children are encouraged to learn, develop, and grow through engaging play and discovery in a stimulating and secure setting. The curriculum focuses on offering fun, educational activities that enable children to reach their full potential.
Pippins operates with a mission statement emphasising learning through play. Additionally, Pippins runs the Kidz Star Club, providing before and after-school care at Landscore School, operating during school terms.
As a registered charity, all funds raised are directly invested back into enhancing the pre-school environment for its attendees.
What it's like
The pre-school is welcoming, warm and friendly with bright open spaces and many engaging activities for children to learn. Staff plan effectively for what children need to learn next, and all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make good progress. The leaders and staff are ambitious and provide a stimulating curriculum for children to follow, teaching letter sounds, using signs and words, and modelling counting.
Fees are structured around hourly rates that vary by age group, with separate bands for children aged two and under, and those aged three and over. Charges are scaled from fifteen-minute increments up to ten-hour blocks. Additional fees apply for late collection and late payments.

Children in the pre-school class enjoyed playing on the balance beams and exploring the water activity in the outside area. The inspector took a tour of the pre-school with the deputy manager, including the outdoor area.
