Sweetpeas Early Years Provision, established in 2021, provides outstanding early and full-time education for children aged 1–4 years. 30am to 6pm, throughout the year.

The provision received an Outstanding rating from Ofsted on 31/05/2023. Children develop exceptionally close friendships and confidently engage in a rich set of enticing activities, demonstrating considerable self-confidence in testing out their ideas.

Familiar routines help children feel incredibly settled, with staff skilfully building on their knowledge and fostering superb vocabulary development. The nursery implements an ambitious curriculum, offering high-quality teaching that deeply engages children in their play, both indoors and outdoors.

The learning environment is exciting and purposeful, making highly effective use of diverse spaces like an allotment area where children safely pick fruit and a "woodland garden" for sensory play. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive excellent support; staff swiftly identify concerns, make appropriate referrals, and leaders are extremely knowledgeable, ensuring rapid progress.

The nursery also includes specialist visits and celebrates various cultural festivals, enriching children's awareness of diversity.

Pricing & funding

This term-time preschool offers full day, morning, afternoon, lunch, and breakfast sessions. Charges are billed half-termly. Funding is accepted for most sessions, with optional fees for hot lunches, snacks, and activities operating on an opt-out basis.

Good to know

  • Minimum booking of 2 sessions per week across two separate days.

  • No refunds or discounts are given for sessions missed due to illness or holidays.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive an excellent level of support. Staff quickly identify possible concerns and make swift referrals to other agencies. Leaders are extremely knowledgeable in supporting children with a variety of complex educational needs. As a result, children with SEND make rapid progress.

Outdoor space

The learning environment is exciting and purposeful, with a balance of indoor and outdoor play. They make highly effective use of the different spaces available. For example, children safely pick fruit with staff in the allotment area to eat at snack time. Babies and toddlers delight as they use plastic tools to fill containers with sand in the 'woodland garden'.
