Green Dragon Nursery, established in 2009, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years, operating from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, all year round. The nursery received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 1 February 2024.
Staff welcome children warmly and foster strong attachments, helping youngsters to grow in confidence. They create an environment rich in varied resources, igniting curiosity through planned learning experiences tailored to each child.
A key strength is the large, well-equipped outdoor area where children are eager to explore natural materials, climbing apparatus, and imaginative dens, developing their physical skills and learning to share. The curriculum is broad and balanced, with staff engaging children in conversations and modelling language effectively to build vocabulary.
For children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, leaders and staff work closely with other agencies, using shared information to plan and support individual development, helping to close any developmental gaps. Parents report that their children are happy and making good progress, and they feel well-supported by the staff team.
The nursery also implements robust procedures for children with allergies and medical conditions, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Inclusion & environment
Leaders and staff establish effective partnerships with other agencies involved with children and their families. For instance, staff use information which has been shared by other professionals to plan for individual children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, this helps to close any gaps in children's development.
Staff create an interesting and varied environment for children to make choices about what they want to do. They are curious about the range of resources, particularly in the large, well-equipped outdoor area. Children are eager to explore and experiment with natural materials, climbing apparatus and imaginative outdoor dens. Children enjoy a well organised and spacious natural outdoor environment to extend their physical development. They learn to share and negotiate with each other.
