Play Safe at The Pavilion is a nursery situated in Hillam, Leeds, offering a welcoming environment for children. Established in November 2018 after extensive conversion work on the Cricket Pavilion, the nursery boasts a rural location with a large outdoor area, a covered play space, and ample parking.

The facilities include new insulation, a modern heating and hot water system with low surface temperature radiators, a new children’s toilet area with child-sized fittings and regulated water temperatures, and new uPVC windows and doors with finger guards. In Spring 2022, Leighann Lowe became the new manager, and the nursery achieved an 'Outstanding' rating from Ofsted in June 2022 across all areas.

The dedicated and experienced team focuses on fostering exploration and development in children. The nursery operates from 7:15 am to 6:00 pm, though it's closed between Christmas and New Year.

Play Safe at The Pavilion aims to provide a high-quality, consistent level of care while adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Pricing & funding

This nursery charges a daily rate for sessions running from 7.15am to 6pm, with fees covering all meals, drinks, snacks, nappies, and wipes. Additional unfunded hours are billed at an hourly rate. A minimum booking of two full days is required.

How they support every child

Outdoor space

Children show high levels of confidence when using large outdoor equipment. They stack plastic milk crates and add tyres to create a small obstacle course. Children learn how to manage age-appropriate risks and show excellent physical skills as they climb and balance.
