Playhouse Preschool, situated within the Allington Community Association, provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged two-and-a-half until they begin primary school. Established in 2012, this OFSTED-rated "Good" preschool emphasises a play-based learning approach, encouraging children to explore and develop their individuality.

The setting is inclusive, celebrating differences and welcoming all families. They operate during term-time, offering both morning and afternoon sessions, with a full-day option.

The preschool utilises a large hall, a smaller hall, and a fenced outdoor patio, as well as the surrounding large field and wooded area for outdoor activities in all weather conditions. The facilities include disabled toilet access, nappy changing areas, a kitchen for food preparation, and a spacious car park for drop-off and pick-up.

Playhouse Preschool focuses on age-appropriate learning within two distinct age groups, while also fostering interaction among all children. They implement "in the moment planning" to observe and support each child's learning journey, nurturing creative confidence through hands-on activities to develop problem-solving skills.

Outdoor space

In the garden, children use spades to dig in the mud. They find worms and snails and create habitats for the creatures. Staff share their behaviour expectations with children, encouraging being kind and considerate when caring for creatures.
