Poplars Nursery, part of Thrive Childcare, nurtures children's development through a comprehensive and engaging curriculum. They focus on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, offering hands-on learning experiences and encouraging practical life skills.
The nursery provides a stimulating setting with diverse resources, utilising both indoor and outdoor equipment for child-led exploration. Key aspects of their approach include daily physical activity, forest school sessions, and a focus on creative arts through music and dance.
They also prioritise language and literacy development through dedicated story times and integrate cooking and baking activities to foster healthy eating and culinary skills. Beyond academics, the nursery emphasizes children's wellbeing with various activities, some nurseries even featuring mini-farms or pet visits.
They keep parents informed through e-learning journals via the ParentZone app, providing updates on their child's daily activities and development. The nursery also hosts regular newsletters, parent evenings, and celebrates the transition to primary school with graduation ceremonies.

Inclusion & environment
Ongoing monitoring of children's development helps to identify any gaps in learning. Additional screening tools allow staff to provide support for children who may be at risk of falling behind. The special educational needs and disability coordinator implements targeted learning plans and makes timely referrals to outside agencies to ensure children receive the support they need swiftly, helping children with special educational needs and/or disabilities to make progress from their unique starting points.
Children have daily access to the outdoor area and take part in a range of extra-curricular physical exercise classes. This helps children to learn about keeping healthy and contributes to their overall well-being.
The best nursery. My daughter has had the best 3 & a half years at Poplars, the level of care & support has been incredible! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Xx
