Staff at Positive Steps Nursery build lovely relationships with the children, promoting their confidence and self-esteem through supportive interactions. The nursery places a strong emphasis on fostering independence, encouraging children to take responsibility for tasks like handwashing and serving themselves meals.

Respect for others is a core value, with children encouraged to share, take turns, and play cooperatively. Strong support is provided for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, with staff trained in supporting children with autism and working closely with health professionals to create individual support plans.

Children benefit from daily access to fresh air and exercise in the spacious, enclosed garden, where they learn about nature and collect leaves on nature walks. Senior staff use additional funding to purchase waterproof suits, ensuring children can enjoy outdoor play in all weathers.

The nursery also promotes early reading through a 'Book Passport Scheme' and a lending library for parents, fostering a love of books from a young age. Children also benefit from healthy, nutritious meals and learn about healthy eating from staff.

The experienced and well-qualified staff team works collaboratively, benefiting from strong leadership and professional development opportunities.
