About this day nursery

Rainbow Hill House Nursery is a warm, family-operated childcare facility located in Bounds Green, North London. Established in 1992 by Linda and Nej as a home-based childminding service, it flourished through word-of-mouth recommendations before relocating to a larger premises in 2016.

The nursery now features five dedicated rooms and a unique soft play area. The family remains actively involved, with their children Deniz and Shanel contributing to its operations.

The nursery welcomes children from three months of age, offering a stimulating learning environment designed to foster holistic development, confidence, self-esteem, and independence, supported by a key-person system. They go beyond the EYFS curriculum by incorporating their own unique curriculum, which includes a rotating selection of extra-curricular activities such as language lessons, baby ballet, children’s yoga, baking, mindfulness, and interactive story and drama sessions.

Experiential learning and outdoor activities are deeply embedded in their philosophy, with regular excursions to local amenities like libraries, parks, garden centres, farms, museums, and woods. They also engage with the community by inviting local services such as the police, ambulance, and dentists to visit, and preschool children regularly visit a local elderly residential home to encourage intergenerational connections.

Our ethos

Rainbow Hill House Nursery's philosophy is centred on fostering holistic development, confidence, self-esteem, and independence through a unique, EYFS-plus curriculum. They prioritise experiential learning and outdoor activities, incorporate a wide range of extracurriculars, and actively engage with the community and intergenerational connections.

Warm, Friendly, and Nurturing Environment Rainbow Hill House has been a fantastic nursery for our family, offering a warm and friendly environment that truly caters to the needs of both children and parents. Both of my boys were nurtured here through their early years, and we’ve created countless wonderful memories. The staff at Rainbow Hill House are incredibly welcoming, and it was evident from the start how much they care for the children. My boys formed strong, lasting bonds with their key workers, who provided a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. The nursery’s menu deserves special mention as well. It’s varied, nutritious, and has played a significant role in helping my boys develop a well-rounded diet. It’s clear that great thought goes into ensuring the children are offered healthy and enjoyable meals. We’re so grateful to Rainbow Hill House for the positive impact they’ve had on our children’s early development. Thank you for everything!

Rainbow Hill House is a fantastic nursery. My children were so happy and they learnt so much during their 4 years there. The staff are very caring and considerate and genuinely lovely people. The nursery building itself has lots to entertain and teach young children and is very clean. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery. 5 stars!

Rainbow Hill House is an absolutely excellent child centred nursery. The staff have a real dedication and commitment to nurturing, caring and developing the babies, toddlers and pre schoolers. In all the 7 years that both my children attended the nursery I have never had a complaint or issue. I have been blown away with how loving, caring and attentive they are to each and every little person. It set a real foundation and resilience for my children in getting them ready for school.

We will always be grateful to Rainbow Hill for looking after our two little boys for the past 4 years until they started school. We will never forget how loving they were when we first came with our first born son and about to have our second, and that feeling has remained all these years. The way they love and nurture the children is amazing as well as the way they treat the parents. We will miss all the staff very much. Thank you Rainbow for making our boys' early years so special!
