Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make expected progress from their starting points. Leaders are knowledgeable about the role they play in supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who are known to or previously known to social care. They make effective use of early years pupil premium, spending the money awarded in an individual way to ensure it benefits those children in receipt of it. Leaders work closely with the parents of children with SEND, providing advice and support for targeted interventions, including bespoke resources such as sensory boxes and continually reviewed SEND plans.

Outdoor space

Babies, toddlers and pre-school children play and explore independently. Staff proactively support older children to learn to manage their own self-care, if appropriate to do so, when they are ready. Children make their own choices about what they want to do.

EAL / language support

Children develop communication and language skills effectively across the nursery. For example, babies begin to name and label objects and imitate sounds. Toddlers develop simple narratives during play, and pre-school children share their thoughts and ideas when asked open questions.

Raise to Shine is a wonderful nursery, we wouldn’t send our children anywhere else. Having experienced other providers, I can safely say that Raise to Shine provides a loving, nurturing environment in which children are encouraged and supported so that they thrive. Our daughter joined when she was 6 months old and just starred school with oodles of confidence and independence! We can’t thank the team at Raise to Shine more.

I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough! The staff are truly outstanding – they are warm, caring, and go above and beyond to make every child feel supported and valued. It’s clear how passionate they are about what they do, and their encouragement helps the children to grow in confidence each day. What stands out most is the way the team really nurture each child’s individuality while creating a safe and happy environment where they can thrive. They take time to build wonderful relationships with both the children and parents, which gives me so much peace of mind. Every interaction I’ve had with the staff has been positive, and you can see how much joy they take in celebrating the children’s progress and achievements. The range of activities they provide is fantastic. From creative arts and messy play to outdoor play and early learning sessions there’s always something new and exciting happening. It’s wonderful to see how much thought and energy the team put into planning engaging experiences that spark curiosity and help the children learn through play as well as making sure they develop their core learning skills for starting school. Both my children have attended and thrived at raise to shine. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else

The team here are absolutely wonderful. From the very start, management were so supportive and really went the extra mile to help us get everything arranged. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, and you can instantly feel how much they care for the children. From the atmosphere alone, you can see this is a place filled with kindness and positivity. It’s the kind of environment every parent hopes for – safe, nurturing, and full of joy.

We had a great first impression during our tour and staff seemed lovely, but the follow-up has been very disappointing. The fee information we received was unclear and inconsistent, and despite asking several times for a straightforward breakdown, the responses were informal, confusing, and eventually stopped altogether. It felt as though we were expected to commit without knowing what our monthly costs would be. This is such an important decision, and while we liked the nursery initially, the lack of clear communication has left us with a sour taste and confirmed it’s best not to go ahead.
