The dedicated staff team, many of whom are highly qualified, build strong relationships with the children, prioritising their happiness and emotional well-being. Leaders have implemented a well-sequenced curriculum, ensuring children make good progress from their individual starting points.
Children are encouraged to develop independence, from babies learning to feed themselves to older children serving their lunches and managing personal care. The nursery places a strong emphasis on fostering a love of books and provides numerous opportunities for physical development, both indoors and in their spacious outdoor area.
This allows children to run, explore, and engage in activities that develop their fine motor skills. For children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), leaders work closely with external professionals to ensure tailored support and targeted plans are in place, enabling every child to reach their full potential.
Parents consistently praise the caring and enthusiastic staff, noting their children's happiness and safety within the nursery.

My daughter has been at The Shirley Green Day Nursery for a year, starting in the Baby Room, moving to First Steps, and soon onto the Toddler Room. She was very clingy initially and needed a lot of support while settling in. What really stands out about this nursery is their unlimited settling-in sessions, which made a big difference for us. Adam was patient and supportive, making the transition smooth. In the Baby Room, Mel provided consistent care, which helped my daughter feel comfortable and thanks also to Adam and Katie for their support. In First Steps, Kerry has been very attentive, making each day enjoyable for my daughter and Adam also offered great care. Overall, the staff at this nursery is great at providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for the children, thanks to each one of them.
Read on GoogleMy child has truly thrived in this nursery since 2024. The staff create a comfortable, fun, and inviting environment. He has learnt so much during his time at the nursery, and the progress in his speech, confidence, and overall development has been remarkable. This growth is something we notice daily at home through his play, communication, and curiosity. The activities are always engaging and thoughtfully planned to support learning and development, and the positive impact of the nursery’s approach is clearly reflected in everyday life at home. The staff are consistently supportive and always willing to offer guidance and reassurance throughout parenting dilemmas. I genuinely couldn’t fault this nursery or the incredible staff who care for my child. Thank you all for everything you do.
Read on GoogleWe are extremely happy with Shirley Green Day Nursery. The staff are absolutely incredible – caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children. A big shout-out to Mel, Katie and Maddie in the baby room who are amazing!! The surroundings are fantastic, with great facilities that are always clean, safe, and very well maintained. It’s clear a lot of pride is taken in creating a welcoming and nurturing environment. We couldn’t recommend the nursery highly enough. Well done all!
Read on GoogleMy daughter has been attending Shirley Green since it opened. We did look around a few nurseries local to us but found Shirley Green to look the most promising and I am so glad we picked here! There is no guilt feeling about dropping my daughter off, she even asks if she can go on days she doesn't attended. She runs in, hugs the staff and loves sharing her stories. Her key worker Ella goes above and beyond and even helps with challenges we find ourselves dealing with at home, she works with our daughter at Nursery to improve behaviours. A big shout out to Mel to, she was a massive part of toilet training our daughter and she mastered it in a matter of weeks, such dedication from staff - they even made a toilet chart with her favourite character on for her to bring home that was the same as the one she had in nursery. I know my daughter is going to leave Shirley Green with the confidence and skills to thrive in Primary School this year and I couldn't be more thankful.
