Staff have high expectations for the children, promoting healthy behaviours through daily routines such as handwashing, and encouraging independence. The curriculum is thoughtfully planned around children's interests and developmental needs, with a focus on preparing them for their next stage of learning.

Staff are particularly adept at supporting children's literacy skills through daily story time and encouraging exploration of books. They also effectively support children in understanding positive behaviour through consistently applied rules and boundaries.

The playgroup has a strong provision for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), with a well-qualified SENDCo who expertly supports staff in implementing effective techniques. Furthermore, staff carefully integrate activities that support both small and large muscle movements, such as climbing, balancing, painting, and using playdough, which provides a strong foundation for developing pre-writing skills.

Children are encouraged to develop confidence in their physical abilities through these activities.
