School House Nursery in Uckfield provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children from 6 months to five years old. Emphasising a Montessori-inspired approach, the nursery focuses on individual child interests to foster confidence and a love for learning.

They aim to provide more than just childcare, with a team of passionate, highly trained staff who act as role models and actively engage in teaching. The nursery offers a child-centric experience, balancing varied activities with a personal touch.

They are open 51 weeks a year, from 8 am to 6 pm, closing only for the week between Christmas and New Year and on Bank Holidays. In addition to core care and education guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), School House Nursery offers 'Additional Services' which include consumables like nappies and wipes, laundry for blankets, outdoor gear, and nutritious meals, as well as extra-curricular activities such as Forest School, yoga, French, gardening, cooking, PE, and music and movement.

These services are designed to enhance the child's experience and support parents. The nursery actively supports parents in understanding and utilising available financial aid, including various government funding schemes for childcare.

Our ethos

The Montessori ethos underpins what we do. We help children develop according to their age and stage. We follow the individual interests of each child and plan accordingly, providing countless opportunities for them to try something new and learn as they go. To us, early years has to be much more than just childcare.
