About this day nursery

Opened in March 1994, Seesaws Day Nursery in Sutton Coldfield provides a welcoming environment with a strong family feel, caring for children aged 1 to 4 years. 30 am until 6 pm all year round, closing only for one week at Christmas.

With a "Good" Ofsted rating, the nursery excels in providing a nurturing and stimulating setting where staff build positive, supportive relationships with children and parents. They have developed an ambitious, well-sequenced curriculum that aligns with children's interests, ensuring strong progress across all areas of learning.

A key strength is the early identification and support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff work closely with parents and professionals to provide timely support, effectively utilising additional funding for extra resources and increased adult input to meet individual needs.

Outdoor learning is also a significant feature; children are encouraged to respect nature and learn responsibility by caring for living things and growing fruit, vegetables, and flowers in the garden allotment. Staff also promote positive behaviour through clear, consistent expectations, teaching children that running is reserved for outdoor areas.

Daily circle times using tools like "feelings monsters" help children explore and label their emotions, fostering self-awareness and emotional regulation. The nursery also maintains strong community links, enriching children's experiences and deepening their understanding of the world, for instance, through visits to a nearby retirement village.

We enjoy this nursery so much that I actually took my son out of school nursery shortly after he left Seesaws to send him back there for his final year. The staff are so amazing and so helpful. My son has additional needs and being there has helped so much with his development and confidence. I highly recommend ☺️

Seesaws Nursery Chester Road is a fantastic nursery. Our child absolutely adores this place and the staff and even wants to go in on her days off, which for me speaks volumes. Will be sad when she has to leave. Would definitely recommend 🥰

Best nursery. Chester Road branch. My child chose the nursery by showing me how much she liked a certain teacher there. Her confidence has increased so much.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for 2 years and she loves it. Staff are great (they even potty trained her 🙏). They also offer daycare during bank holidays, a bonus for working parents. Overall great experience couldn't have asked for more.
