About this day nursery

Smarty Pants Nurseries, established in 2007 by Lydia and Paul Browning, offers stimulating childcare in a secure setting, fostering children's imagination and confidence. Lydia, an experienced nursery nurse with a BA Hons degree in Early Years, manages the nurseries, with Paul assisting in daily operations.

The group has expanded over the years, with nurseries in Tipton, Bearwood, Lye, and Pattingham. Notably, the Tipton nurseries, Smarty Pants and Lola-Belle's, are recipients of the prestigious 'Millie's Mark' award, an accreditation for nurseries where all staff are trained in paediatric first aid.

This commitment to safety and staff training has been a continuous practice since their opening. The organisation aims to provide high-quality care, promoting early childhood development and ensuring a supportive environment for both children and their families.

I didn’t expect that they are charging for late collection fee £15 for every 10minutes and I’m not happy with this payment to be honest this is ridiculous. Two days before I was late(15minutes) to collect my kid from them therefore I paid £30 by cash. Please be aware about this matter.

5-Star Review for Smarty Pants We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Smarty Pants. From the very first day, the staff have shown such warmth, care, and professionalism. Our daughter Jazal absolutely loves going to nursery—she runs in every morning with a big smile, which speaks volumes about how happy and secure she feels there. The teachers are incredibly nurturing and attentive, always going above and beyond to create a positive and stimulating environment. We’ve seen wonderful growth in her confidence, communication skills, and creativity. The activities are so thoughtfully planned, and we truly appreciate the regular updates and photos that let us feel part of her day. The environment is safe, clean, and welcoming, and the team fosters a lovely sense of community among the children and families. Thank you, Smarty Pants, for giving our daughter such a beautiful start to her early years. We’re so grateful to have found a place where she is not only cared for but also encouraged to learn, explore, and thrive. Highly recommended to any parent looking for a loving and inspiring nursery experience!

I am extremely happy with the care and attention my child has received at Smarty Pants Nursery. The staff are incredibly accommodating, ensuring my little one feels comfortable and well looked after. The nursery offers excellent playful activities like sand play, colouring, kitchen corner and reading books that keep the children engaged and excited to learn. Special events like Mother’s Day celebrations add a lovely personal touch, making the experience even more memorable. My child has also picked up many nursery rhymes, which shows how well they are learning in a fun and interactive environment. The key person assigned to my child adjusted so well and has been very interactive, creating a strong bond that has helped my child feel secure. Overall, I feel my child is in good hands at Smarty Pants Nursery, and I highly recommend it to other parents looking for a nurturing and engaging place for their little ones!

We have had a wonderful experience with our son’s nursery. The entire team has been fantastic, but I want to especially mention Cherine, Morgan, and Aysha. They have shown such genuine care, patience, and dedication toward the children. Cherine stands out as a truly capable leader. She is always approachable, professional, and deeply committed to creating a positive environment. Morgan and Aysha have been equally caring and attentive, making sure our son feels safe, happy, and encouraged every day. It is reassuring to know our child is in such good hands with a team that not only looks after the children but also genuinely cares about their well-being and development. Thank you for all your hard work and kindness!

This is a lovely, intimate nursery. It has three rooms, one for Under 2s, one for 2-3s and the other for 3+. There are no more than 10 or so children per room, which I love. Some of the places I visited for my son were like mad houses with kids running all over the place and a constant stream of screaming and crying. Smarty Pants is like a haven in comparison. My son has been going there since he was 10 months old so I have experienced all three rooms and have been happy with all of them. The two older kids rooms have partially covered playgrounds which is great as they get outdoor time all year round. The staff here are pleasant, they are always smiling and seem to enjoy their work, which is important when you're leaving your child with them all day :o) Finally, the prices are more than reasonable and there is a loveky parknext door which is perfect for summer evenings.
