Initially founded on the Wilton estate with a focus on Montessori methods and outdoor learning, the nursery group has expanded significantly since 2009, now operating in multiple locations, some in partnership with primary schools and children's centres.
In 2018, South Hills Nurseries received the 'Nursery Group of the Year' award at the NMT Awards, acknowledging the dedicated efforts of their teams. Their mission is to spark curiosity in every child, encouraging them to explore the world with wonder.
The nursery's ethos also extends to its staff, fostering a workplace built on trust, respect, and mutual growth. South Hills Nurseries values the unique potential of each individual within its community, promoting a sense of belonging and celebrating diversity.
They believe in empowering children through enjoyable play and excitement, ensuring a foundation for lifelong learning. The nursery provides holistic care to support each child's development, with inspirational teaching at the core of all experiences.

Inclusion & environment
Parents of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities speak highly of the support they have received from the special educational needs coordinator. Any concerns regarding their child's development are quickly identified, resulting in early support and intervention.
When in the garden, children and staff discuss flowers and pollen, revisiting a previous visit from a bee-keeper and talking about how bees spread pollen. Children also learn the importance of caring for animals by feeding rabbits and are taught to be kind and gentle when handling them.
Children with English as an additional language are well supported. Staff skilfully weave new vocabulary into all areas of their play. Children confidently share words in their home language with their friends, for example, to describe herbs.
