Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) make excellent progress. The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) works closely with children and families to identify children's needs early and put in place a plan to support them. Staff are given extra training to enable them to support children in their care. This gives them a better understanding of children's needs and development. Referrals are made to other professionals to ensure that children receive the best care and support. Therefore, expectations are high, and children make good progress.
All children have access to a huge outdoor space that focuses on developing children's physical strength. The area is carefully planned, with hills and obstacles to challenge children and develop core strength and balance. As children grow, staff introduce further opportunities to develop their physical development, such as play dough and mark-making experiences, to support their fine motor skills.
Squirrels Nursery has been absolutely incredible for my son. When he first started, he was almost completely non-verbal, but the care, attention, and tailored activities the staff provided helped him find his voice within just a few weeks. The transformation was amazing to see. The team are brilliant, and the nursery manager, Zoe, is an absolute gem. She interacts with every family, always makes time for you, and is just a phone call away whenever you need support. Her involvement and genuine commitment to the children and their families make a real difference. My son is now in reception, but he still talks about how much he misses Squirrels. I couldn’t recommend this nursery more, they gave him confidence, communication, and so much happiness. An outstanding early years setting.
Read on GoogleThis has been a life line for me, the teaching staff are just phenomenal and go beyond there scope of practice. I can honestly say this nursery setting is absolutely fantastic. My son went to the baby room all the way to the nursery setting. I went to work with ease knowing that the childcare practitioners where there for my son 100%. I can honestly say this is the best baby/pre school/ nursey setting. Marisa and Linsey have been my life line, and will always be grateful for the most professional and supportive people. Thank you 😊
Read on GoogleMy two children have been attending this nursery since last year and they are both very happy there,i have no complaints about them so far. The staff are very loving and supportive. i could not have chosen a better nursery. They have helped with my daughter's potty training and when my daughter was about 10 months they planned her daily routine based on her routine at home, so she would have her own sleep time etc. I would recommend this nursery. Read on GoogleLovely garden and wonderful staff. My daughter started going there at 7 months and she absolutely loves her days there. They made a big effort to adapt to her sleep routine and homemade food choices. Best nursery in Broxbourne area.
Read on GoogleThis nursery is ok however, it’s not diverse at all given the number of families/children from the BAME community who attend the nursery. It would really be helpful for this to be reviewed by management as soon as possible. Diversity is key!
