SRC Community Nursery, with over four decades of expertise, offers outstanding care and education for children aged 6 months to 5 years. The nursery focuses on creating a joyful, secure, and nurturing environment where children can form friendships and learn.
As a non-profit, community-run organization, any financial surplus is reinvested to provide affordable, high-quality childcare. The nursery prides itself on its dedicated team and a voluntary management committee that supports its mission.
Established in 1983 as a short-term initiative, SRC quickly escalated in popularity due to high demand for quality childcare, leading to its relocation to a dedicated facility on Gaza Street in 1991, where it has continued to thrive.

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
parents speak very highly of the nursery. Communication is effective and parents feel informed about their child's time at the nursery. They say that staff are kind, caring and extremely supportive. Parents like the personalised support plans and targets that are put in place and shared with parents. This encourages parents to become active educators at home.
Inclusion & environment
Staff provide children with support and opportunities for physical development, such as selecting appropriate bikes and taking risks climbing on garden furniture. Managers plan to develop the garden environment further to enhance children's sensory and natural play experiences.
