Inclusion & environment
Children with additional needs are well supported and make good progress from their starting points. Staff are aware of individual needs and plan an appropriate curriculum to support their learning. Staff also work with parents and other agencies to share information and identify the needs of children who require additional support, ensuring they receive targeted support at an early stage.
Staff plan a good range of activities across all areas of learning during indoor and outdoor play. Furthermore, managers involve staff and parents in projects such as the garden committee, which is developing the use of the outside play areas. Children enjoy playing outside and exploring different textures, including collecting leaves.
Children who speak English as an additional language (EAL) are supported with their communication and language, but staff could make better use of opportunities to include children's home languages in everyday routines to further strengthen their support.
